Frequently Asked Questions:


Q- I am having difficulty making an on line payment.

A- Some out of date browsers, for example  Internet Explorer are no longer accepted as secure gateways for on line payments by the card processors.  Other common problems include the name , address or postcode on the booking does not match the card details held by the banks.

Q- I am trying to book a pitch for a tent and you are not showing any availability, why is this?

A- We are not taking any new tent bookings for 2021

Q- I would like to book more than 2 pitches together.  Can I do this?

A- No.   We do not accept group bookings..  A group booking is where more than 2 pitches aim to be together on site.  You will be asked to leave without refund if you make a           group booking.  There is also a maximum capacity on any one pitch.   Current COVID regulations mean that no more than 2 households or 6 people can meet outdoors.

Q- I am trying to book a 2 night stay for Easter/ Late Spring/August Bank holiday. Why am  I unable to make the booking?

A- There is a 3 night minimum booking for the main bank holidays.  Try to extend your booking search to 3 days and email for late availability/cancellations.  

Q- I am trying to book more than 1 pitch for  Easter/ Late Spring/August Bank holiday. Why am  I unable to make the booking?

A- We do not allow on line bookings  for more than 1 pitch together over the bank holiday periods. 

Q- I am trying to book a 1 night stay in spring half term, July and August. Why am  I unable to make the booking?

A- There is a 2 night minimum advance and online booking for the main school holidays.  If you wish to make an advance or online booking try to extend your booking search to 2 days.  We may have pitches available for  1 night stays closer to the dates you require.   Inquire by email or phone  for late availability.

Q- I would like a pitch near to the facilities how can I arrange this?

A- When you book on line complete the customer comments section to let us know of your requirements and we will try to meet your needs, subject to availability, or contact us with more information.

Q- Does the  price of the holiday include VAT?

A- Yes, the listed price includes VAT at the prevailing rate. 


Q- Can guests visit me on site?

A- No, Due to the continuing COVID restrictions we are not accepting day visitors to the site in 2021. 

Q- Do I need to bring a toilet and washing facilities?
A- You will need your own self contained washing facilities until at least the 17th May.  In common with all English campsites there will not be any showers or any indoor shared facilities open until 17th May due to COVID restrictions.  (which is subject to change).  Toilets are permitted but  social distancing measures are still in place which could cause longer waiting times than usual.  We therefor recommend the use of your own self contained toilet. 


Q- Do you allow fire pits?

A- Yes we allow fire pits but not open campfires on the ground.   A limited number of fire pits are available to hire.  They come with an initial supply of kindling and wood.  Fire wood and kindling can be bought from the shop. The use of firepits and BBQs may be restricted during times of drought and extreme fire risk.

Q- Do you allow BBQs?

A- Yes we allow BBQs but they must be raised off the grass.  We can provide blocks for this purpose.


Q- Can I buy a day ticket for fishing?

A- Yes daily, weekly or seasonal  tickets covering daylight hours can be bought from reception.

Q- Can I fish at night?

A- There are a limited number of night fishing pitches available which must be pre-booked. These 24 hour tickets run from 1pm to 1pm.

Q- Will you need to see my Environment Agency Licence?

A- Yes.   

Q- Do you have an accessible fishing platform?

A- Yes
